INCREASING SPECIES DIVERSITY AND WATER INTO THE AQUIFER
If you’re into hunting activities, then check out Blue Mountain Peak Ranch. Our ranch is enjoyed by hunters of all levels, beginners to pros.
This is an over 2-hour tour in a 4-wheel drive, air-conditioned truck, which also includes short- or long-foot programs. On this tour, you will hear about and see the area’s geological history, our restoration programs, and the nearby wildlife.
This is perfect for the more adventurous visitors. There will be over 15 miles of good walking, dirt roads, and footpaths that wind through the ranch with more challenging hikes in the ravines.
This can be done everywhere inside our ranch, even in the comfort of a hunting blind. We trap and dispatch cowbirds, so our songbird population keeps on thriving.
This will be very rewarding as you can take advantage of the richness and diversity of the ranch’s geography as well as the surrounding flora and fauna.
There are over 15 miles of roads and paths.
Use self-contained RV's or bring your own tent, set up camp wherever you want (near a year-round spring or atop one of many secluded view sites), and enjoy hiking on our Award Winning Ranch.
Bring your own horse and ride throughout the ranch.
Take a trip down the Llano River from White's crossing to the James River crossing or from the James River crossing to Martin's crossing. These are each a 4 to 5 hour trip on single-passenger kayaks, provided by the ranch. Up to 4 kayaks available. It involves a downstream paddle on the best two sections of the Llano River. It is a clear, clean, spring-fed river that winds through fields, tall ancient rock cliffs, and provides lots of scenic, historical, and wildlife opportunities.
Here, you can expect pools and calm water punctuated with some small rapids. You can also fish in the river. We provide the life jackets, but you have to bring your own food. Delivery and pick-up at the end of the location are provided. Guided kayak tours may be negotiated.
Facilities are available for your organization, family, or group. Any of the listed activities may arrange full use of the ranch as well. Please see pricing.
